Mr.Patrick Okwarah

Mr. Patrick Okwarah is the Coordinator and Secretary of CADCKE. He Holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry from Kenyatta University and a Masters of Public Health from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology. Mr. Okwarah is a qualified and experienced trainer, policy analyst and researcher who has presented at national and international conferences in countries such as Germany, Sweden, and the United States. His research interestsspans areas such as emerging drugs, underage drinking, gender differences in SUD treatmentand quality of health. Currently, Mr Okwarah is a lecturer of Pharmacology of substance abuse at Support for Addiction Prevention &Treatment in Africa (SAPTA) and previously he has taught Global Health and Ethics in Health research at the Technical University of Kenya. He is on-call qualitative data specialist with International Business & Technical Consultants Inc.(IBTCI) on USAID based transition initiatives in Somalia. He has wide consultancy experience in research, work-place policy formulation & development and trainings on health  mattersand particularly in substance abuse epidemiology, HIV/AIDS, Non-Communicable diseases (NCDs) with Kenya’s leading parastatals  including but not limited to National Authority for the Campaign against Alcohol and drug abuse (NACADA), Kenya Bureau of Standards, Kenya Airports Authority, Kenya Ports Authority, the State Law Office, the National Environment Management Authority, Kenya Prisons service,  Tourism Fund , National Museums of Kenya only to mention but a few. Besides, he is a board member and treasurer of MASAA Africa.
