Kwale Coalition  mOMBASA

KWACADCO is an acronym for KWALE COMMUNITY ANTI-DRUGS COALITION. It is a legally registered entity as a Community based organization operating in the entire county of Kwale. It is composed of 18 likeminded C.S.Os that joined together to strive for a free drug and substance abuse   society in Ukunda. KWACADCO’s secretariat is based in Ukunda, South Coast of Kenya. KWACADCO has a secretariat of 7 people namely: the President, Vice president, Secretary, Treasurer, organising secretary and two committee members who are in charge of the daily operations of the coalition and implementation of projects.

Provision of Educational programmes to addiction counsellors, running community based prevention programmes and advocacy for greater access to treatment.

 To take the lead in prevention of substance abuse and related problems by offering  prevention programmes that are   evidence based  built on overarching  prevention  principles

Membership and Networks

KWACADCO works closely with development partners in provision of prevention services. It also works with Government agencies such as National Campaign Against Drug Abuse (NACADA).KWACADCO also works with the County government of Kwale in the department of Community development culture and talent management. It has a good working relationship with CADCA-(Community Anti-Drugs Coalitions of America) which gives technical support and training programmes. KWACADCO is also a member of the Umbrella coalitions of Kenya CADCKE (Community anti-drug coalitions of Kenya.
