Mombasa Community anti-drug Coalition (MCADC) is the pioneer Coalition in Kenya and was founded in 2010 with the technical support from Community anti-drug Coalitions of America (CADCA). The mission of MCADC is to be the lead organization in the fight against drug abuse in Mombasa and coast at large where the prevalence of abuse of the narcotics and injecting drug use is highest in Kenya. The coalition is comprised of parents, youth groups, law enforcement, community-based organizations, faith-based organizations, health care providers, social service providers, civic and government officials at both
the County and National level, the media, individual members, only to mention but a few. MCADC uses comprehensive, community-wide approaches to reduce substance abuse and its related problems in Mombasa as well as evidence based environmental strategies that focuses on changing laws, policies, practices systems and attitudes aimed at transforming the ecological niche.
